Due to the extreme financial impact on the music industry of the COVID-19 crisis, many of our peers are experiencing higher than usual levels of anxiety, depression and issues with alcohol and other substances. Loss of short and longer term income, an uncertain future, and social isolation have placed individuals and families under previously unknown levels of pressure, stress and strain. Our peers most susceptible to mental ill health and addiction are suffering, as are many of those with no known pre-existing conditions.
There is an urgent need to provide support that will mitigate the immediate and long term behavioural impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The music industry has an opportunity to help by acting now.
Acting now will save lives.
