Story
Hi everyone,
My name is Kishan Sheth and I'm a second year dental student studying at King's College London. Being a British Asian means I've grown up in a luxurious and sheltered environment, very different from the harsh realities and horrors of third world poverty. During my travelling experiences to poorer nations I was shocked to witness how young children and teenagers such as myself had to live. The living conditions were inhumane, the basic necessities that I take for granted in my everyday life such as food, shelter and fresh water were considered luxuries which only the luckiest got their hands on, and there was huge pressure for children to work to feed their families.
It's important that we understand that we are given a choice. We can either ignore the sights we witness or we can make a stand against poverty. Your much needed donations will be directed to families in India who are living below the poverty line, to give their children an education -the tool that will take themselves and their families out of the poverty trap, but we need your donations to make this happen.
My mission starts here, and I can't do this alone. I have therefore participated in a charity walk to raise as much money as I can for the Sharma Foundation, a cause very dear to my heart. So please dig deep and give as much as you possibly can so we can take a step closer to zero poverty!
Much love and thanks for all your support,
Kishan Sheth
