Story

Hi everyone,

After years of saying, “I’ve always wanted to run a marathon” I entered 2012 with a new addition to my New Years Resolution list. I decided that it was time to stop dreaming & instead enter the gritty, painful world of long distance running... So, on the 28 of October this year I will be running the Frankfurt Marathon!

I have joined up with a couple of people from work & together we’re going to pound the streets in an attempt to take us from the ‘tiny’ 10km runs we’re doing now to the race that will have me sweating, laughing & crying. We have begun training and already I’ve learnt the importance of having good socks, a cracking playlist & a motivational running partner who refuses to believe lying on the sofa & eating chocolate is good for me.

I’m running this race for Marie Curie Cancer Care, a charity that provides high-quality nursing at home - totally free - to those living with terminal cancer and other illnesses. Everybody knows somebody - a friend, family member, colleague, friend of a friend etc - who has been affected by cancer so please help me reach my fundraising target of £250 for this very worthy cause!

I’ll post some pictures in the lead up to the race so I can keep you updated with how I’m getting on. Thank you for taking the time to read this & please make a donation to Marie Curie if you can!
