Story

In November 2017, 3 days after going to A&E feeling unwell, a close friend of Kirstyn's family, Gemma Thomas, died of Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. The impact that Gemma had on so many people in her life was huge and across so many areas, through her work with the church, charity and the community

Gemma left behind her husband Simon and their son, Ethan, who is only a few weeks younger than Kirstyn. The shock and grief for her family has been immeasurable.

Kirstyn has witnessed first hand the various emotions associated with losing a close family friend and the impact on Gemma's family and friends, and was moved to do something to help.

Kirstyn got together with her amazing friend Jemima and as a result the 2 girls came up with the idea to between them complete a sprint distance triathlon over the course of the day on Saturday 14th April.  Between them they are going to complete a swim of 750m, a run of 5 km and a cycle of 20 km.

Jemima and Kirstyn are 2 very special girls who have huge hearts and a desire to help.  Please do sponsor them, every donation really does make a difference to this charity who are working to make sure other families don't suffer in the same way as the Thomas'.
