Story

Dear all,

On I gave up alcohol for a whole year to raise funds for the British Liver Trust.

Not only has the charity has been badly hit by the financial downturn but liver disease is on the increase and most of us won’t realise the damage we are doing until its too late.

Worryingly it kills more men than Parkinsons, more women than cervical cancer and approx. 4 people are being admitted to hospital every hour with alcohol related liver diseases.

My aim is to increase awareness and prove that if I can do this so can you.

Those that know me well will realise this is a huge challenge for me and I hope they will support (and sponsor!) me as much as possible.  Some think it’s a crazy idea and say they couldn’t do it, but I think its about time I gave my liver & bank balance a break and learned the value of socialising without alcohol.

So, instead of buying me a real drink, donate the cost of one and help me reach my fundraising target.

Thanks.

Kirsty :o)
