We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Saturday the 24th September I’m embarking on an ultra (walking) marathon in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK in memory of one fantastic lady who touched my heart and is sorely missed, Alfonsa Maillard (aka Gran) 🖤

Everyday there are almost 600 people who develop dementia, most of which are women. People over the age of 65 are more likely to get dementia but it can effect younger people too. Unfortunately, there is no cure for this disease, yet. With the help of donations, Alzheimer’s Research UK are doing so much to try and help people who suffer with this awful disease. I hope that one day, they can find a cure and I would like to think I have been part of that by helping raise money for the research
