Story
As a Women who often runs alone I was distressed and upset to hear about the tragic death of Ashling Murphy whilst out on her Run.
I have noticed that over the years running alone has started to become an issue for many women. We are conscious of where we run, what time of day we run and what we wear. 60% of Women surveyed by a UK running magazine said they had been harassed whilst on a run.
I believe that this needs to change and that we should all be able to run safely without fear.
Therefore in Memory of Ashling Murphy and in support of all the women, like her, who choose to run I am organising a woman's fun run to raise money for a local woman's charity and also show solidarity to all my female running friends.
