Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We are taking part in the 10k Great East End walk because in March 2011 my Grandad was referred to St Josephs Hospice after a long fight with cancer.

He was in and out of hospital for treatment and operations and then he got the all clear!!!

Then at the end of 2010 the cancer came back. He didnt receive the care he deserved from the hospitals so went to St Joesphs Hospice.

The care he received from the nurses there was amazing. As he said they 'were worth their weight in gold,' which is so true!! They gave my Grandad the respect, care and dignity he deserved in the last week of his life, which he should have got throughout his cancer treatment.

On March 13th 2011 my Grandad passed away. From that day on, the nurses at the hospice still provided support and comfort to the family.

For the care they provided to my Grandad and the comfort they provided to us, I will be forever grateful, which is why I will do all we can to help the hospice.....
