Kirsty is shaving her hair off for Kidney Research

I was due to do a 165ft Abseil from the Middlesbrough transporter bridge on international woman day in March, however the bridge was damaged by storms in February and the Abseil postponed the country was hit with Covid 19 and lockdown, so due to everything the going on in the world at the minute, i have figured that the chance of being able to complete the Abseil this year is slim. however the work of charities needs to continue and the people who need their help.
I have been mostly stuck in the house the same as many of you, and was trying to think of what i could do instead of the Abseil and keep myself save........
So i have decided to shave my head to continue to raise the money i had pledged to raise in memory one of my dearest friends Ami, who sadly lost her battle in June 2018 aged just 37, after years of Dialysis, hospital visits and days where she just didn't have enough spoons (https://happiful.com/what-is-the-spoon-theory/).
Despite the struggles and pain she was in, she was a strong, independent woman who was also keen advocate of having fun and making memories and to share these with all of her family and friends. making the most of the days we have. This beautiful lady was everything that I think of when I think of celebrating everything Womanly.
So what a better way to celebrate and remember her and all she stood for than by #MakingMemories and raising money for this great charity in the process.
