Story
In January of this year I was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis. The form of meningitis I had affects 2500 people each year, of them, 10% die. The rest of us recover but are left with many side effects.
As many of you know, I was a keen runner before my illness and was training for the Edinburgh marathon. This year I have continued to run (although be it much slower) and have entered many races. My biggest race challenge this year was the Liverpool marathon which I was so proud to have completed. I was asked to join in the Marcothon challenge this year (run 3 miles or 25 mins each day in December) and accepted. It has been a massive challenge but now it is nearly over I am so pleased I have taken it on.
Some of my friends challenged me that if I complete Marcothon they would give money to charity. If you want to join them the money would be going to the Meningitis Trust.
