Story

A little message from Kirsty

Thanks for taking the time to visit our Just Giving Page.

This year as a team of 6 Debbie, Gail, Kasia, Lindsay, Stephanie & myself have decided to step out of our comfort zone and walk 14 miles by doing the Glasgow Kiltwalk 2023. We have been in training since January individually & in our groups with any spare time we have come hail, rain or snow (and a little sunshine).

With my amazing friends, we are helping raise funds for Ronald McDonald House Glasgow. The house was home from home for Jessica’s mum and dad. We are all forever grateful to this amazing charity, to help support other parents of sick children, we will be walking in memory of my beautiful niece Jessica 💛 .  Sadly she passed away in November 2020, she is loved and missed every minute of everyday. To date our family has raised a fantastic £14,000 and we are continuing  to do so for as long as we can and keep Jessica’s legacy alive!

Let’s go Team Jessica!

Ronald McDonald House is a small independent Scottish charity (SC023199) that provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation for families with seriously ill children in hospital. The House costs in the region of £700,000 per year to run, helping c.500 families each year from across Scotland and further afield. The house has all the amenities you would find at home, enabling families to rest and recuperate in a safe haven, very close to their child in hospital.
