Story
I'm running Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday 2nd October to raise money for Lemon Tree Trust.
A organisation who create green spaces and gardens in refugee communities and camps globally.
Gardening has the power to positively address issues of isolation and mental health. For people who have been forcibly displaced, the simple act of gardening produces beauty, restores dignity, creates community and offers opportunity.
Since 2015 the Lemon Tree Trust has supported survivors of war to create home and community gardens, garden competitions and education projects. People like Khalid, who says: The camp is closed like a shell. But in my garden, I feel like I am in my kingdom.
