Story

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I and several of my colleagues decided that we would like to set ourselves a team challenge and raise lots of money for charity whilst doing it.

The Challenge

On the 31 of August 2012 we will be climbing ‘The Snowdon Horseshoe’ (minus Crib Goch). This will take us around 8 hours and we will cover a distance of approximately 7.5 miles with an ascent of 1094m.

The Charity

We have chosen to support the Alzheimer's Society as it is a cause very close to our hearts. My wonderful colleague Ami has first-hand experience of this debilitating disease. Ami's mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease at the very young age of 57. She is now 60 and has lost the ability to do anything for herself from communicating to feeding.

The Alzheimer's Society is dedicated to defeating dementia through research. They fund research into the cause, cure, care and prevention of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease, to improve treatment for people today, and search for a cure for tomorrow.

Moneysupermarket.com will match any money raised, pound for pound, so please dig deep for the Alzheimer's Society that will hopefully one day find a cure for this cruel disease and in the meantime does wonderful work supporting both sufferers and their carers.
