Glasgow Kiltwalk - Mighty Stride · 30 April 2023

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm walking the Mighty Stride at the Glasgow (22.7 miles) and Edinburgh (21 miles) Kiltwalk this year. I'll be pounding the streets of Glasgow on April 30th and then Edinburgh on September 17th.

I'm walking for Parkinson's UK, for my mum and all those affected by Parkinson's. Parkinson's is a degenerative neurological condition. There is no cure. There are treatments, of which mum has sampled a fair few over the past 15 years. These treatments can involve multitudes of tablets to be taken several times daily, more tablets in a day than I'd take in a year.

Parkinson's has noticeable symptoms which mean life can be a struggle. Simple acts like writing, dressing, walking. Every step I take, every pound you donate to my kiltwalk, is for support, treatment and hopefully one day, a cure.

Mum, I'm so proud of you.

 💙 Thank you 💙
