Story
Jack sadly passed away after just 26 days. He was born with holes in his lungs and chronic kidney disease. Jack spent the first 18 days of his life in 3 different hospitals in order for them to try and manage his respiratory system and his renal function. Unfortunately on day 19 we were told the devastating news that we were being moved to a hospice for end of life care. When arriving at the hospice we were greeted and looked after from the first second. We got to make memories with our son that we never thought possible, things you take for granted like going for a walk down the canal, swimming, soft play etc. We got to make memory casts of his hands and pictures that we will cherish forever. The staff looked after Jack like he was their own, sitting cuddling him all night so we could get some sleep. The physical, mental and emotional support they gave us and our family is out of this world. They prepared us for the inevitable and we are as strong as can be because of them. My husband and I could never thank them enough for the care and support they gave Jack, Isla, us and our families. We want to raise money for the hospice to ensure other children and families receive the support and care that we have. Jack had a life because of the hospice and we thank them for the 7 days we got to spend with our baby as a family.
