Story

Myself and some others are joining together to complete a walk which will be around 23 miles.

Why we're doing this is detailed below, written by Tommy's parents:

Thomas (Tommy) was a fit and healthy little boy, full of life and joy. He always had a smile on his face. At only 15 months old in April 2022 Tommy suffered his first seizure completely out of the blue. A few weeks later after time in intensive care he was diagnosed with a POLG related mitochondrial disease. After brief stints away from the hospital Tommys condition deteriorated on the 1st of July 2022, he had reached Status Epilepticus. He passed away peacefully that evening with us. This disease is incredibly cruel and took this happy healthy little boy from his family within 3 months without warning.Did you know that everyday in the UK a child is born who will develop mitochondrial disease? Currently there is no cure.Team Tommy and The Lily Foundation want to change this. So please if you can donate and help me help them in this very special little boys memory to create a brighter future for all those effected by mito.Thank you
