Kirstie's story: I came across Parenting Mental Health back in 2019 when I felt lost and alone and desperate to talk to someone who had first-hand experience of what my family and I were going through. Our beautiful daughter Tali had become consumed with mental health difficulties and was admitted to hospital in May 2019, aged 14, and apart from a brief 6-week stint at home, she's been there ever since.
***UPDATE*** As of 1st February 2023 Tali is on extended home leave until discharge. We are beyond proud of her and how hard she has worked to achieve this and just delighted to have her home after over 3 and a half years
I found an incredibly supportive community who knew what I was going through and just realising that I wasn't alone was a huge comfort to me. I've made some friends for life in PMH and do not know where I would be without the community.
We've both run 5 half marathons in the past and ran the LLHM for PMH in 2021. We've both fallen out of regular running again though so the training has commenced!
Andy's story: Same as above! I will be doing all of Kirstie's training runs with her so I decided to do the event too!
