Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Cancer has dominated my life, I hate it, it has taken much from me. My mum was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer when I was 28. That moment when my family was told that our lives had changed forever was soul destroying. My lovely, kind, beautiful mum, who had always been there, was going to be claimed by this horrible, shitty, total bastard of a disease and there was nothing we could do about it. When mum was diagnosed she had her Macmillan nurse Toni with her and she was there for all of us every step of the way, all 17 months of the rest of mum's life and afterwards. There was never going to be a happy ending but Toni and Macmillan were amazing and for that my family will always be grateful to Macmillan and I want to do whatever I can to help those finding themselves in the same position.
Over the next 12 months I will be running Bristol Half Marathon in September, Bristol to Bath Marathon (my first marathon) in October and Bath Half Marathon in March, as well as hopefully completing my 365 day running streak at the end of November in support of Macmillan and the totally amazing work that they do and all in memory of the wonderful person my mum was and always will be. I was extremely lucky to have had her in my life, even for such a short time.
