Mind does valuable work helping people with mental health issues. This charity have helped my family, and for this I am extremely grateful. Any donation, however big or small will be gratefully received. Nobody should ever feel as though they have nowhere to turn.
I started running over 3 years ago. It’s helped to keep me fit both physically and mentally. In 2021 I clocked up over 2000 miles and decided my next goal would be to run a Marathon. I ran my first, Brighton Marathon in April 2022. It was one of the toughest but happiest days of my life. As soon as I finished, I knew I wanted to do it again!
I was originally due to run the London Marathon in October 2022, but I had to postpone this as I was involved in a serious accident in June 2022 while out running with my eldest daughter Jess, which has resulted in some life-changing injuries.
I am determined to get better and stick to my plan. I am undergoing daily physiotherapy, and even though I can’t even walk right now I will do everything in my power to be on the start line in April 2024 alongside Jess who will also be running. Having this challenge to face is giving me the purpose I need to keep striving every day to get my physical health back on track.
I’m 51 years old, married to an amazing man and a proud Mum to 5 adult children and 2 grown-up stepsons.
