Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Sunday Sept 18th I ran 13.1.miles in the Great North Run. It was a great day, mixed weather - but ideal for running. I made it to the finish line in 3 hours 5 mins (the last mile was torture, beaten by the telly-tubbies in the final 200m).
I would like to thank everyone who has donated either on line or in cash.... you can see the total now is in excess of £500 and climbing, which CICRA will make very good use of in their support for research into treatments or a possible cure for Crohns disease in children.... many many thanks to you all......friends, work collegues, Carol staff and customers at Salon 226 and family.
As many of you already know, Dan, our son was diagnosed with Crohns disease when he was 6 years old. He is now 12 and due to receiving some great treatment to control his Crohns, he is in good health. Without this treatment, children like Dan would suffer with severe symtoms associated with inflammatory bowel disease.
CICRA - Crohns in childhood research association is a little known charity but does great work in fundraising towards treatments or a possible cure for Crohns. My aim is to raise some money towards this most worthy cause.
At the moment training is going well and the miles are adding up. Blue and Bracken-see photos, are my ever willing training partners. The only slight drawback is that my training routes need to include a stream or water trough so they can have a dip! Andrew is advising on training routes and of course - trainers!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So please dig deep and donate now.
Many thanks to everyone who has donated. Kirsten
