Story
As many of you will know, I lost my uncle in January of this year, after a long and brave fight against leukaemia. Anthony Nolan has since become a charity close to my heart, and so on 15th September, I will be running the Bristol Half Marathon to raise money for Anthony Nolan and the fantastic work that they do in their efforts against blood cancer!
For those of you who have known me for a few years, you will appreciate just how much of a challenge this is for me! My past 'running' experiences have consisted of a leisurely walk, planned picnic stops, several shortcuts and a few 'sick' notes - a lot of effort to avoid 3/5km! This time, I will be facing a 21km course with none of that to help me through!
To make that happen, I've been spending some horrific hours in the gym and have had to tackle not only the physical demands of running, but also my mental attitude to exercise in general!
Please support me in my efforts to raise money and awareness for Anthony Nolan! Just £7 could pay for a spit kit to collect a potential donor's saliva for tissue typing, expanding the register and increasing the chances of finding a match for those who need a transplant!
