Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I aim to run 10k, in under 1hour, on the 6th of October in Glasgow as part of the Great Scottish Run. My chosen charity is The Ayrshire Hospice which relies on a lot of fundraising to enable them to maintain this service and at no cost to the patient.

The Ayrshire hospice is a local charity situated in Ayr. They took care of my mum when she needed it most, making her as comfortable as possible, as well as being very accommodating to my family and family friends visiting. They made my last few days with my mum as special as possible, and peaceful for her. They were very supportive to my family and this is my way of saying thank you. They have not only helped my family but others I know too, taking special, and unique care of everyone.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I am very grateful of any sponsors raised. I am hoping to do a pub quiz fundraiser nearer the time too.

Thank you!

Our charity cares for adults in Ayrshire and Arran with life-limiting illnesses. We help them live as actively as possible to the end of their lives, however long that may be. Hospice care is open to all. It’s free for patients but it’s not free to provide. So we need to raise over £4M each year.
