1 in 5 children in the UK are affected by their parents' alcohol problems. They are often frightened and isolated, with no one to turn to for help. Nacoa responds by providing a free, confidential telephone, 1-2-1 chat and email helpline.

Story

If you have teased me, doubted me or tempted me throughout Sober October then it is almost time to eat your words...

Nah, but seriously, thanks so much for all of your support and encouragement this month - especially those of you have witnessed me drooling over a large, cold glass of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc!

Instead of supporting Macmillian for Sober October (a very worthy cause) I've decided that I'd like to raise a few quid for a fabulous little charity you've probably never heard of called The National Association for Children of Alcoholics (NACOA UK) - they do some really great work and it is an issue close to my heart. So, please give generously!

I figured that aiming to raise a tenner for every day of sobriety is about fair... Think of it as buying me a glass of wine, only your money will be put to much better use!

Love Kirsten
