Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Just over 5 years ago at the age of 62, our dear old dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Dad has always been full of life with a mischievous streak and it is heartbreaking watching this illness taking this away from him. Although dad is in no pain and appears fit and healthy this awful illness now means he is unable to look after himself and requires 24 hour care, which my loving mum provides.

The Alzheimer's Society has provided us with a life line and has been a great support for both mum and dad.

On October the 6th I will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise money for the charity to say a big thank you for all their support and to raise money to enable them to help other families. This will be a tough challenge, but with dad standing cheering me on, it will give me the inspiration and determination to make the finish line. With your help and donations we can raise lots of money for this fantastic charity.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
