Story

Thank you so much for taking time to visit my page. I am raising awareness for the prevention of suicide and a change in the mental health system.  On 30th April I and a few other friends will be walking the Yorkshire 3 peaks, in memory of my daughter chloe. We want to turn the heartbreak of losing our daughter in something positive.

If it helps one person to talk and to prevent this horrific tragedy happening to another family,  then by taking on the Yorkshire 3 peaks will be more than  worth it.

My daughter chloe Louise Barber aged 18 suffered from her mental since 2017. After taking several overdoses, she was admitted to a mental health hospital where she spent 4 months to get the help she needed.  However it wasn't very successful.

On the 15th January 2020 she was sectioned under the mental health act. She spent a number of months at inspire hospital hull. Later she was transferred to Cygnet hospital Sheffield.

On the 4th July 2021 she was discharged from hospital and she came home and tried to get back to normal life.

On the 3rd November 2021, it was a normal day, dad ,myself went to work and her 15 year old  brother went to school. Chloe was at home I remember asking her what she was up to on her day off from college. She said she was doing her college work.

What happened when her brother returned home from school is horrific. He found is sister had taken her own life. He called an ambulance and through instruction from over the phone started CPR on his sister. It was to late she had already passed.

By doing the Yorkshire 3 peaks to challenge myself and to raise awareness for suicide prevention and things need to change in the mental health system.

On the 11th of September I will be taking part in the great North run  🏃‍♀️

Also on 17th October i will be taking part in the yorksire 10 mile .

As a family we have been badly let down and the lack of support from the services has been appalling. More importantly they have let down our beautiful daughter chloe Louise Barber a young girl who had her full life ahead of her and all the other sons and daughters who are all gone to soon 💔
