Story

Hi

I decided to run the Sheffield half marathon this year in order to raise funds and awareness for the great work that St Luke’s hospice on abbeydale road, Sheffield. In a change of plans even with how he is my bro has made my dreams come true by changing my fund raising over to take part in the St Luke’s Cup being played at hillsborough in our beloved blue and white. Something we have both dreamed about since we were kids.

If you aren’t aware my brother (Tyrone) has been fighting stage 4 cancer for coming up to 2 years now. Even though given an outcome of less than 12 months he has fought and battled even though the chips have been down and still continues to do that 2 years on..

Recently the chips really were down and he was at a really low point. A decision was made for him to go into the care of St Luke’s to recover and recuperate.

The care they provided was nothing short of amazing, nothing was too much for them and not only have they helped him physically get a little stronger but they have also helped mentally in providing support to him and us as a family. These guys have been amazing and still continue to give him after care and follow up to help him out is just above and beyond .

I want to give back to them in the only way I can by hopefully raising funds for them.

Thanks for reading and for everyone’s help and support.

Cheers

Kirk
