Story
In July 2020 following my 27th birthday and whilst on maternity leave, I was diagnosed with a schwannoma brain tumour. Coming to terms with this diagnosis whilst being a new mum has been a life changing event. I am currently awaiting to have Gamma knife radiation treatment in 2021.
My family and I are taking on a challenge to complete 26.2 miles each (equivalent to a marathon) in the month of January. Those of you that know me know I don't run! I would like to raise awareness and have set a target of £500 to support The Brain Tumour Charity.
Almost 11,700 people are diagnosed each year with a primary brain tumour, including 500 children and young people – that's 32 people every day. Over 5,000 people lose their lives to a brain tumour each year and at least 102,000 children and adults are estimated to be living with a brain tumour in the UK currently.

The Brain Tumour Charity is the world's leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Committed to saving and improving lives, they're moving further and faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour.
Any donation will be greatly appreciated to support this cause.
