Starting at 4:30am, we will be walking 20k on Sunday 2nd June in Richmond to help to raise funds for Shooting Star, a leading children’s hospice caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. 

It costs £10 million a year to provide these services and they rely on 90% coming from donations. Their support and facilities are free of charge to families and are available 365 days a year.

This charity will support our family once George comes back home.

Our little hero, George, has been in hospital for more than eight months now, in both St Mary's PICU (Paediatric Intensive Care Unit) and Chelsea & Westminster PHDU (Paediatric High Dependency Unit), where he has been cared for by the best nurses we could wish for. 

During this time, he has suffered from many medical issues, the most serious ones being more than 600 profound desaturations episodes that are due to seizures, dystonia and possible central hypoventilation. These are caused by two syndromes that George was born with: 1p36 deletion and 4p duplication. They are both rare (there are only about 100 children in the entire world with his particular duplication) and George’s DNA is the combination of the two which makes him totally unique. 

George is an incredibly determined fighter and his bravery inspires us every day. We are very proud of him and we cannot wait for him to come home!

Alle 4.30 del mattino, a Richmond, Londra, domenica 2 giugno, faremo una camminata di 20km per aiutare Shooting Star, un centro di cure che si occupa di bambini con gravi malattie, e delle loro famiglie, a raccogliere donazioni.

Entrambe sono rare (ci sono solo circa 100 bambini in tutto il mondo con la sua duplicazione) e il DNA di George è la combinazione di entrambe e ciò lo rende unico al mondo. 

George è un guerriero incredibile e il suo coraggio è la nostra ispirazione quotidiana. Siamo molto orgogliosi di lui e non vediamo l’ora che ritorni a casa!
