Event: Brindleyplace Dragon Boat Race 2018, on 16 June 2018
On Saturday June 16th 2018, businesses across the West Midlands will battle it out on the canals of Brindleyplace in traditional Chinese Dragon Boats to raise funds for Cure Leukaemia.

Story

In 2017, Team "Kind of a New Hope" came from a galaxy far far away to win the Dragonboat race and raise money for a very good cause. This year, the Kind Group are donning their best wizard's robes and signing up for Advanced Dragon(boat) Studies at Hogwarts - and coming to defend their title, now as Team JK Rowing (get it? That took us ages).

While the race is good fun and we do hope we can match our performance last year, what's really important here is Cure Leukaemia. They do fantastic, vital work that we're very proud to be able to help, and we hope you'll donate to enable them to continue working towards ending blood cancer for good.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cure Leukaemia helps blood cancer patients to access pioneering drug and transplant treatments by funding a network of specialist research nurses across the UK. Without these nurses, to ensure patients are monitored and cared for, clinical trials of these new treatments would not run and patients, that have exhausted standard treatment options, would miss out on potentially lifesaving therapies. Every penny raised for Cure Leukaemia helps save lives and also hastens global progress towards the eradication of all forms of blood cancer.

Cure Leukaemia fund research nurses at 15 hospitals across the UK. These roles form the Trials Acceleration Programme (TAP) network giving patients, from a catchment area of 30m, access to potentially life-saving treatments through clinical trials, with plans to fund a paediatric network on the way.
