My asthma came on with a vengeance at the age of about 24, whilst pregnant with and following the birth of my 2nd child.

Since this time I've lived on constant steroids & antibiotics, there have been numerous hospital admissions for weeks on end and a couple of very scary moments indeed.....

My eldest two girls Britt now aged 23 and Tilly 21 years, spent their childhoods not only putting me on nebulisers & phoning the GP, but spending time with grandparents & their dad & step-mum, whilst I 'rode it out' in hospital. Life during this time was very restricted in the things we could do together....

Fast forward to my move to the Lake District and a long wait for a new consultant.... then along came the wonderful Dr Catherine Prior, a diagnosis of Chronic Eosinophilic Asthma and eventually after lots of tests, I was put on Biologic Therapy.

Life Changing.

I started to run for the first time in my life without gasping for air, open water swimming & being able to explore the hills with the family without lugging around nebulisers & antibiotic & steroid free!!

Unfortunately, more recently these biologics were not hitting the asthma pathways they need to, so I'm now trialing the 3rd lot of biologics, as nflammation was still present.
