Story

Hi Guys!

I think I may have actually lost my marbles this time! Surely there are nicer, relaxing and more comfortable ways to raise money! But then you wouldn't donate unless I was doing something crazy! I am running the 2015 Virgin London Marathon and as you all know there are far more than just 26.2 miles in a marathon! I will be out there pounding the pavement come rain or shine. Please support me on this journey and help me raise money for an amazing little boy at the same time! Do a good deed today and pay it forward!

I am fundraising for Ben. He is 5 years old and due to complications during pregnancy Ben has cerebral palsy.  This condition causes tightness and spasticity in both arms and legs.

Ben had life changing surgery 4months ago which has shown great success. The Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy has removed the spasticity in Ben's legs, therefore removing the pain and enabling Ben to use his "normal" muscles.

Ben is now post op and needs essential intense physiotherapy. Post op therapy costs on average £10-£15k a year!!!

Ben has had intensive physiotherapy courses at a centre in Oxford in the past. He has therapy 2 hours a day, for 3 weeks, with highly trained therapists using equipment they don't have any where else in England.  His family would like to take Ben there 3 times a year but at £1500 a session it means they need help fundraising to continue to take him. He is booked in for 4 sessions in 2015 as he'll this need post op. He also has weekly sessions with a private therapist.

Ben is such a determined, fun and happy boy but his physical restrictions are extremely frustrating for him. His mind is so willing but his body just won’t let him do what he wants to. His would like to do everything they can to help him overcome these challenges and live his life as full and as pain free as possible!

Ben has a Facebook page if you would like to check this out and see how's he doing. You can either search for Ben's Therapy Fundraising or use this link:

Without ongoing treatment like this Ben will fall behind. But again, this therapy doesn't come cheap.

Since starting this extra work with Ben he has rocketed with improvement. His strength has improved and he is more stable and aware.

So, please, please support Tree of Hope to help Ben have the treatment he so badly needs.

I am raising money for Tree of Hope to help fund this ongoing treatment and any donations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
