Story

My Daughter Bow was born 9 weeks early, 31+4 to be EXACT!

The day of her arrival, I went to the hospital with my partner for a scan, I had really high blood pressure and the midwife was worried as it wouldn’t go down.... We looked at our baby on the screen, she was wriggling around, we assumed everything was fine until the sonographer said she needed a second opinion, she left the room and we sat there terrified, not knowing what to expect.... The doctor came and explained that my placenta had stopped working and was no longer feeding the baby, they dropped the bomb that she was half the size she needed to be and that she had to be delivered TODAY!!

We sat there sobbing, I couldn’t stop crying....

Soon after my beautiful baby arrived, “It’s a GIRL” they said, my partner holding my hand smiling at me as he knew the sex the whole way through my pregnancy, (he never told a soul).... My daughter was here, she let out a little cry and was rushed off to intensive care, her DADDY never left her side that night! My Mum and Sister stayed with me and the next day I was allowed to see my baby, I was shaking, crying, excited and nervous, I looked into the incubator and couldn’t believe my eyes, my girl weighing 2lbs 5oz was here, so tiny but so perfect.... With the AMAZING help of the neonatal nurses, she made massive progress and after 6 weeks of living in hospital with her, she was finally allowed to come home, 6 months later Bow is now weighing a healthy 13lbs and is such a little character..... I thank god and count my blessings daily, the outcome could of been a lot worse x

Bliss exists to give every baby born premature or sick in the UK the best chance of survival and quality of life and without their help my daughter wouldn’t be the healthy little chunk she is today.....

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give whatever you can, £1, £5, £10, it really doesn’t matter because every little helps.... THANK YOU SO MUCH

KIMBERLEY Xx

Bliss is the leading UK charity for babies born premature or sick. We rely on donations to fund our work but with one baby admitted to neonatal care every five minutes we don’t have the resources to reach every baby who needs us. Your donation can help Bliss ensure every baby gets the best care.
