On 16th September 2017 my 6th grandchild Teddy was born sleeping, this had a devastating affect on my daughter, son-in-law and grandsons as well as all of the family.
You cannot begin to imagine what it is like, to all be going about your daily chores and my daughters pregnancy was fine, then I received a telephone call that will stay with me forever, it was from my daughter, telling me that something was wrong. The next 3 days were a living nightmare whilst my daughter had to wait for her labour to start knowing that her baby would be born 'sleeping'.
When Teddy came into the world, the hardest part was yet to come when we had to let him go. My daughter and son-in-law were able to have Teddy with them overnight in a specially designed cot, provided by Abigails Footsteps. The care we were given and the understanding of all staff involved was unbelievable.
I am therefore helping to raise money for this charity so that they can continue to provide vital equipment needed for these beautiful sleeping babies and for training to be given to the specially selected midwives who are there for the parents
In memory of my beautiful grandson Teddy DORAN. 16-09-17.

Teddy, don't let them say that you weren't born, that something stopped your heart, I saw you, held you, kissed you and loved you from the start.
Although I cannot hold you now, I know the day will come, when I can kiss those tiny lips of my beautiful grandson.
There will come a time, 'I promise you' as nannies always say, when I will squeeze your tiny face and in my arms you'll lay.
I know you never breathed my air, or gazed into my eyes, that doesn't mean you never was, an angel never dies.
