80 Miles in May for Mental Health

80 Miles in May · 20 April 2022
This year, I will be joining the Mental Health Foundation’s 80 Miles in May Challenge 🏃♀️
Kaya (my trusty furry companion 🐕) and I will attempt to jog/run 80 miles (128.75km) during the month of May for mental health awareness and to raise funds for the Mental Health Foundation. As we're currently averaging around 8 miles/month, this is a big challenge for us but we’re hoping that with your support (whether that’s words of encouragement or a small donation) we will stay motivated and reach our targets!
We will be tracking our activity using the Strava app and we will keep you updated on our progress.
Also, as the theme of this year’s Mental Health Awareness week (9-15th of May) is loneliness, I am organising a social run in Amsterdam every week in May and anyone who wants to join us is welcome (this includes all fitness levels and ages). I thought it’d be a nice opportunity to take care of our wellbeing together by connecting with others, getting outdoors and being active. If you would like to join, you can find more details below.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page and for your support!

Weekly Social Runs in Amsterdam
Dates:
Meeting point: Diemerparklaan 1087 KB Amsterdam
Google maps: https://goo.gl/maps/bBPmTWdfw4p6run27
There are bike racks, car parking spaces and it's a 5 minute walk from tram 26 (stop Diemerparklaan).
The runs will take place in Diemerpark which has a lot of different paths that are just for pedestrians and cyclists. We will adapt the pace and distance to the group and we’ll make sure that no one is left behind!
Finally, we can end the morning with a nice refreshment and pastry from De Bakkerfiets round the corner from our starting point.
What to bring: good running shoes and clothes, water and optionally your friend, partner or pet!
We hope to see you there! 💚
