Story
I lost my mum to High Grade T Cell Lymphoma in June. It has been an incredibly tough journey for my family and I would like to do this to spread awareness and, most importantly, to help research into rare forms of Blood Cancer.
My mum was diagnosed in January, but had been ill for a very long time prior to this. Unfortunately, she was passed from one doctor to another, without getting any answers. I am hoping that raising money for Blood Cancer UK will help to increase awareness, speed up diagnosis and minimise the chance of this happening to other people. Maybe if my mum’s journey wasn’t as difficult, the outcome might have been different.
The London Marathon has been a goal of mine for a very long time and my mum and I thought this was the perfect year to do it so I applied. I am so happy that I was able to tell her I had a place before she passed, but does mean there is no chance I can pull out; I’m doing this for you mum!
Even though mum won’t be here for my training journey and on the sideline cheering me on, any donations, big or small, will be boosting me on instead.
