Story
Zach’s mummy & daddy, well probably more mummy had a mad idea we could take part in this year’s Bubble Rush Fun Run around Walsall Arboretum on 23rd July. However, after telling family our idea, it has ever so slightly expanded, to nearly 30 of us doing it including
Zach's grandparents, cousin’s, auntie & uncles and I’m sure we will only be walking or tootling around not running!
So the aim is to walk the 5km bursting through rainbows of bubbles and enjoying bubble baths as we go.
Acorns supported us as when Zach was born, but due to the distance between us and Worcester, we didn’t use them but
always knew the support was there if we wanted it, which certainly came into play in September last year when we were able to go there for end-of-life care with our gorgeous little man.
They were amazing with us and our wishes for Zach including allowing Lofty, his puppy dog to come and see him, and allowing our massive family to come along and be they’re with us to say their goodbyes.
Without them we wouldn’t have been able to spend extra time with Zach to say our own goodbyes and make some memorable keepsakes to treasure forever. They are still supporting us and vowed to continue doing so for as long as we want that support.
Acorns Children's Hospice provide care, support, fun and laughter for over 700 local children and more than 900 family members, including those who are bereaved. Care is given within our three hospices in Birmingham, the Black Country and the Three Counties, as well as in the family home and community. Acorns relies on the community to fund the majority of its services.
Acorns has supported us as a family and now it’s our turn to do our bit for them and raise as much money as we can.
