At the tender age of 42, I have stupidly agreed to run the Wilmslow Half Marathon in aid of NCC Groups “On the Road to Recovery” campaign.

From a personal perspective, I have to say that whilst I always knew this wasn’t going to be an easy challenge,  I don’t think I’d really considered exactly how difficult it would be to transform myself from a couch-potato into a competent runner in just 60 days.... I'm hopefull however that I can rise to this mighty challenge!

From a company perspective, we are aiming to raise £1 million by April 2014 for the Christie Charitable Fund which has been pioneering in leading cancer care, research and education in the North West for over 100 years. 

 

The Road to Recovery campaign is specifically targeted at raising vital funds for a mobile chemotherapy unit which will take cancer care directly to patients’ homes, enabling them to be treated without the tiring effort involved in getting to a treatment centre.
