Virgin London Marathon 2012 · 22 April 2012 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Well, I've only gone and done it! The London Marathon - from the start of this madness six months ago to the moment I crossed the line in tears - has just been an amazing experience.

I've been genuinely humbled and moved by the kindness, generosity and support of family, friends, colleagues and indeed strangers. It is something I'll never forget.

It's been a 'journey' - of course - with lots of self-doubt and injury setbacks (I've had so many acupuncture needles, my behind feels like a pin cushion!) It was probably the hardest thing I've done and I am completely cream crackered now, but it was also one of the most rewarding.

This has all been to raise money for The Stroke Association and to help people like my wonderful Mum.

So THANK YOU so much for your donations and your support. It really has and does mean a lot.
