The Heart of Kent Hospice the charity I am raising money for; having met them and heard about the work they do at the hospice has really made me want to raise money for them.

 

It has in fact inspired me to jump out of a plane.

 

I am absolutely terrified, but think it is an amazing way to raise money for such a good cause.

 

The Hospice supports people of all ages and the families of the people they look after. Although it is a registered charity, they only get about a third of what they need from statutory funding and it costs around £3.8 million per annum to run the hospice. 

 

Hospice care is free to those who need it and they are therefore heavily dependent on fundraising.

 

I am hoping to raise £500 and to give you an idea of what the money can be used for:

 

£500 pays for a child to have a series of counselling sessions.

£125 pays for a Specialist Community Nurse to visit a patient at home.

£200 will pay for a new blood pressure monitor for the ward at the Hospice.

 

I hope you will agree that anything that you are able to donate will be going to a really good cause.
