The Myton Hospices - Scafell Pike for Sunrise 2024 · 2 June 2024 ·
In 2014, I was preparing for my 40th birthday party when we received the devastating news that my Uncle Derek's pancreatic cancer was terminal. Party cancelled and family focus turned to caring for him and making him as comfortable as possible. He spent some time in Myton Coventry hospice, which allowed us to get him home ready for his final weeks. My memory of Myton was the calm, caring environment. The staff were all so welcoming and understanding. The gardens were beautiful and a lovely place to just go and sit and think about everything.
Now, 10 years on, I've decided no party for my 50th. Instead, this walking challenge to remember Uncle Derek and to help raise funds for somewhere, lets face it, we all might need at some point. So, if you were planning on buying me a beer for my birthday, please donate it to this challenge instead.
I'm taking part in The Myton Hospices Scafell Pike for Sunrise Challenge to help them raise vital funds! We know that is a lot of money but with your support, we are confident that we can achieve it!Providing dedicated care and support for people with terminal illnesses, and their families, in their inpatient beds and in the community continues to be their primary focus, and they need to raise £10.5 million this year to do this. They can't do it without the support of people like me and you so please consider sponsoring me today!
