We help people with ME/CFS to understand and survive their illness

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page

In August we will be swimming the English Channel in relay. Until recently we were unsure if the event would take place! We now have the go ahead from The Channel Swimming Association and are good to go. We will each do at least three 1 hour swims in one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world. No wet suits allowed! Training has been difficult due to the current situation, but is going well. We are all excited and a little nervous about the challenge.

We have two charities, all equally important. We just ask that the donations are spread out! It was not possible to set up one page and split the money equally. So each charity will have it's own page.

ME Association - this charity is so very dear to my heart. My beautiful niece, Emily has been house bound for the last 9 years, from the age of 14 with this cruel debilitating disease. She faces challenges daily with dignity, grace and always a smile. We all long for the day when she can lead the life of a healthy young woman. So little is known or understood. So much research is needed. Any donations would be so gratefully received.

Thank you

The ME Association campaigns hard to get ME recognised as a severe neurological illness. Our helpline provides essential information and support to adults and children who have ME/CFS, and to their families and carers. We also fund biomedical research into the physical nature and causes of ME/CFS.
