Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online, the money rasised will be going straight to help the aged and will not be going to me myself.
If you haven`t already heard im off to walk part of the Great wall of China with 29 others from around the uk, over seven day , for eight hours a day and trust me this no holiday or walk in the park it will probley KILL me.
The money raised from this challenge will help to continue to expand and develop Help the Aged projects that have a practical impact on the lives of older people, a few examples of which are outlined below:
HandyVan is a unique home security service, which aims to ensure that older people feel secure in their homes. Since the scheme started in 1995, HandyVan fitters have installed equipment such as door chains and viewers, locks and bolts, window locks and smoke detectors in 67,000 homes.
SeniorMobility buses enable older people to get out and about so they can visit family and friends and get involved in their local communities. There are over 1,500 buses around the UK.
SeniorLink is a 24-hour immediate response service that provides support for over 7,000 older people living in their own homes. Most community alarm services of this kind are purely for use in emergencies. However, the SeniorLink service is unique in that staff are on hand at the touch of a button for a friendly chat or reassurance. SeniorLine is a free telephone helpline providing advice to older people, their relatives and carers on a wide range of issues from welfare benefits to housing and care. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure.
