Story

* Lee Jamieson, Age 12

* Smile as Bright as the Stars - Our Son, Our World *

♥️ Loved to the Moon and back... 🌟🌙 💫

Amazing, kind, caring, footballer, go-kart racing driver - fit, fun, friendly, brave, cheeky, crazy, sociable, technical, clever, inspiring – these are just some of the words which describe Lee, but there is one word that goes beyond all ~ that word is Loved.

To the Moon and Back x

************

Lee was in Primary 7,  at school with his pals as normal one Friday, and by the Monday morning he was admitted to the Children’s Cancer Ward at the old Yorkhill Children's Hospital in Glasgow, where he was diagnosed with Burkitt Lymphoma, and fell asleep for the last time 9 months later at Robin House Children’s Hospice on 24th August 2014   He was just 12 years old.

Lee had the very best of care - .

He should have got better.

He should have gone to high school with his pals.

But when this disease broke through the treatment Lee was receiving, there was nothing at that time that could stop it.

Since coming home without Lee, we have raised over £250,000 through * Live it for Lee * for Blood Cancer UK - to help find and fund new treatments and kinder cures for over 100 different types of blood cancer - including specifically the one that has taken our lovely boy from us.

Alongside groundbreaking research and breakthroughs in treatments, this charity offers its care and time to provide invaluable patient support and encouragement for our events, as well as bringing bereaved families, patients, fundraisers and scientists together, resulting in unique bonds and lasting life-long friendships - with their strapline never feeling more true - It’s Time to beat blood cancer..

So after a 2 year lockdown delay, I set off on 16th June 2022 for this 8 day climb of the Highest Mountain in Africa - the Highest Free Standing Mountain in the World - Mount Kilimanjaro - …. climbing 5895m  /  19,341 ft. / 4.3 x Ben Nevis

To The Moon Back for my Boy.

And even if I don’t reach the top - every single step I take - with your support - will help take us all

✨ One Step Closer To Beating Blood Cancers ✨

for this wee boy who is Loved to the Moon and Back more than I can find words to express  xx 🙏🏻

I am So Grateful for your continued support for *Live it for Lee*, for helping us to raise these crucial funds that keep labs open at the hardest of times for these incredible scientists to continue their amazing life changing, life saving work, in Lee‘s name x

              🙏🏻

Thanks So Much for listening x
