Story
I have been affected by Raynaud's syndrome since I am a child but it has became worse in the recent years. Raynaud's syndrome makes my hands' blood vessels extremely sensitive to even the slightest change in temperature, causing increasing pains. Going in the frozen food section in the supermarket is enough for my hands to hurt. Year after year it is getting worse, sometimes I just can't move my fingers and they stay white/grey and hurt for hours. But I am lucky, some people cannot live a normal life because of Raynaud's syndrome.
As of today, there exists no cure for Raynaud's syndrome, all you can do is protecting your hands from the cold by wearing gloves.
In January 2019 I will climb Mount Kilimanjaro (5895m). At the top the temperature can drop to -25°C, which is going to be a real challenge for me. I want this 8 days climb to be the opportunity to raise funds for SRUK, the only charity dedicated to improving the lives of people with Raynaud's. These funds will help the research on Raynaud's and the lives of people who are more affected than I am.
You can also make an impact on the lives of people with Raynaud's by donating to help us achieve a world where no-one has their life limited by Raynaud's.
