Story
Hi everyone,
'Tis a bank holiday on Monday 25th May (yay!). It's also my birthday (yay!). As you can tell from the photo above, I'm in dire need of a haircut (booo!). Thusly, I am taking part in the #HomeHairStyleChallenge and asking friends and family to sponsor me to get my hair restyled to support Plan International UK's Coronavirus: Childrens Emergency Appeal.
However, I don't know what haistyle to get. That's where you come in. I've decided to get YOU to decide my new hairstyle. So, for every £10 you donate, your suggestion for my new hairstyle will be entered into a random draw. If you donate more than £20, you can throw in a suggestion for what to do with my hair and my beard. And if you're feeling really generous and donate more than £50, we can start talking dye (hoping this is too high for anybody to actually do it!). So:
- Every £10 = an entry for hairstyle of your choice;
- >£20 = entries for hairstyle and facial hairstyle of your choice;
- >£50 = entries for hairstyle and facial hairstyle of your choice including hair dye suggestions.
All donations, no matter the amount, are gratefully received and seeing as we probably won't be seeing each other for the foreseeable, any donation can replace a birthday pint / shot for this year ;)
If you donate, THANK YOU!, and please put your suggestions for hairstyles/beard style/colouring in your comment, or message or DM me on twitter (https://twitter.com/KieranMcGirr). To note:
- I will not be shaving my hair off, so don't even suggest it :)
- Maybe don't suggest a Hitler moustache either ;)
- Feel free to suggest hair / facial hair suggestions that might actually look alright!
- Random draw will take place on Friday evening (22nd May) to allow for a trip to the shop on Saturday in case supplies are needed! You can, of couse, continue to donate to beyond that :)
- I will keep my hairstyle, no matter how hideous, until at least the following weekend!
- Please select to add Gift Aid to your donation.
- Any questions, message me!
The coronavirus pandemic is having a devastating impact on family lives everywhere, and for children in the world's most vulnerable communities, the challenge couldn't be greater. This is particularly the case for those living in crowded conditions like refugee camps, where social distancing isn't an option and where there is often a lack of running water and soap for people to wash their hands, and a weak, already overstretched health system.
You can help us provide life-saving support to children and families who have been affected by this horrible virus.
