Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Recently my father has suffered a very serious stroke at only 52 years old, which has led to him being in hospital for the previous 6 weeks without me being able to visit him. This has been a very difficult time for me, especially without being able to visit him. Both my grandmothers have previously suffered strokes, so it is a cause very close to my heart.
Me and my dad have both talked about running a marathon together for a number of years, so this is for him, I want to run a marathon for both of us. Those who know me will know that I have a tear in my cartilage in my knee which will effect my training, and I will have to run through the pain barrier, but it is nothing compared to the pain that thousands of families go through every year.
So I don’t know yet if my dad will make it home for Christmas, but I can only thank all the people that have helped not only my dad, but all the friends and family that have supported me and the family through this tough period. My hope is that my dad can be home for Christmas, but either way I will be running a marathon on Christmas Eve for both of us to raise as much as I can to help such an amazing charity that has helped mine and many other families so often.
