Story
Jacob was a very happy, normal 2 year old little boy. He came to our nursery where he loved to talk about Thomas the Tank Engine and his new baby sister. He loved to play with the dinosaurs, building towers, playing with his friends and getting messy in the garden. He was very clever and liked to count and knew all his colours. He always came into the nursery with a big smile on his face.
On Tuesday 2nd February Jacob felt a little bit poorly and was collected early from nursery. He had contracted meningitis and died on Saturday 6th February. All of us at the nursery had, of course, heard of this horrific illness and the unforgiving speed with which it takes hold of its victims but now we have now witnessed first hand, the devastation it leaves in its wake. Jacob is missed by all his friends and staff at the nursery. We miss him making us laugh and his infectious smile. Although Jacob is no longer with us he will never be forgotten. We want to prevent this happening to other families in any small way that we can. Jacob's parents suggested that we donate any contributions for our walk to the Sick Kids foundation who supported them so well during this awful time in their lives.Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
