Over 50 and taking up boxing, 24 May 2022
This campaign will lay the foundations for human trials of a pioneering therapy for Motor Neurone Disease (MND). The fatal disease affects the brain and nerves and causes weakness over time. There is currently no cure for the condition.

Story

My cousin Rasmus is pretty much the same age as me - just about to turn 50 and he was diagnosed with Motor Neurone disease a couple of years ago. He has already lost the use of his arms and needs carers, family and friends to help him with simple tasks like standing, getting dressed, eating….

I used to take these things for granted - but not anymore. I want to push myself, use and strengthen my arms and learn something new. Boxing is probably one of the hardest but most accessible things I can do at my age.

I will be fighting at an event for another charity but want to raise as much as I can during this training time to contribute towards finding a cure for my cousin and for all sufferers out there with this horrible, wasting disease.

Any amount you can donate will be worthwhile, so thank you, thank you, thank you.
