Story
Thank you very much for visiting my page.
I am running this year's London Marathon for Epilepsy Society.
Epilepsy is a common and cruel disease. It devastates patients and families in ways, which no other chronic illness does. Epilepsy is not only about seizures, it has a wider impact with emotional, psychiatric and intellectual effects. I have seen the impact, epilepsy has on patients and their loved ones, the daily struggles with uncertainties, the fear, the social isolation, lost opportunities, stigma, the hopelessness, the low self esteem, anxiety and depression and low quality of life. Epilepsy patients still face unfair and unjust treatment in societies around the world and the UK. Relatives of patients with epilepsy witness their loved ones going through all this, just imagine it for one minute....
My late sister May, had severe epilepsy, all above applied, I have seen this and felt it personally. May died in 2014 at the age of 38 years old.
I am running in her memory and in support of all patients with epilepsy and their families.
