Story
Climate change is having a slow but steadily increasingly harmful effect on all of us across the world. Sadly it is often poorer countries who have contributed least and benefitted less from earlier actions which have contributed to climate change who are often expected to fare the worst from the these changes. Renewable technologies are available which can help to combat this without depriving developing countries from economic growth and prosperity.
For this reason I would like to raise money for Renewable World, a charity based in Brighton who aim to help marginalised communities utilise renewable technologies. If you want to understand a bit more about the impact they have take a look here https://renewable-world.org/our-impact. Our fundraising will be supporting projects like Renewable World’s Clean Energy for Health project in Kenya. This project will transform healthcare in remote and off-grid clinics in Kajiado West, southern Kenya. It will do so by installing bespoke solar energy systems and ensuring that energy-enabled equipment (such as refrigerators, nebulisers and sterilisers) are available and operational. This will mean that these clinics can extend their opening hours (e.g. into the evening), offer more services and, crucially, keep vaccines and medicines refrigerated (avoiding vaccine and medicine spoilage that often happens when these clinics have to rely on gas to power a refrigerator).
I am donating the £400 energy bill rebate that the government have announced for all households this Autumn. I would be very grateful for any donations you are able to make to support this great charity as it in turn supports communities around the world dealing with the impacts of climate change.
Thank you....
